Packaging design for a traditional Greek yogurt by Danone
Danone is a world-leading manufacturer of diary products. Our task was to develop the packaging design for a new greek yogurt.
We had to balance between authenticity of Greece and contemporary design expectations of the consumers. The core target audience includes women aged 25-40 years who look after health and appearance. They chose eco-safe natural products for their ration and prefer modern design. So traditional Greek yogurt is a perfect match for them – authentic, natural, eco, useful and tasty. All we had to add was the trendy packaging design to make it appealing and desirable. Our goal was to create the design that would sell from the shelf of the supermarket without media budgets.
The concept is based on white color and fine lines.
This is how we reflected the essence of the product: natural, light and healthy yogurt made with the use of the state-of-the art technology. The simplicity and minimalism allowed us to create a fresh design that meets all the current trends. We increased the area of food zone, developed hyper-realistic "tasty" illustrations which became the key element of the concept. Through them we added vibrant colors to the design, as well as highlighted the naturality of ingredients. It was important to reflect the origin of the product in the logo, so we used the characteristic greek font, but made it more modern and lighter. The decision to enlarge and to place the logo in the center made it possible to achieve the desired "greek mood" without burdening the design with unnecessary elements.
